Sunglasses
We spent the morning with some new friends at Hidden Talisman Park. Where do they come up with these goofy names? Felicity enjoyed hanging out on the swings in her sunglasses.

First Swim
On Sunday morning, we went to my parent’s church and listened to Dad preach a short message. After lunch, we took Felicity out to visit my parent's turtles, which they have had since I was a kid.
In the late afternoon, we took Felicity swimming for the first time at the house of a good family friend. She loved it! She said “Oooo” when she saw all the kids in the water. She rode around in a pool toy for awhile and then we dunked her some and taught her to blow bubbles.

Sarah decided that she wanted to feed Felicity dinner. It was cute because every time she fed Felicity a bite, Sarah would open her mouth real big.

Los Angeles Zoo
The following day we made a trip to the Los Angeles Zoo, another fun place we visited often when I was a child. By this time we were pretty overwhelmed and so most of these photos were taken by my cousin (also some of those posted on the previous day). It was a pleasant day, although there were lots of people at the zoo. The plants were fantastic, and we especially enjoyed seeing ripe bananas on the tree. We put Felicity and Ivy into a double stroller and Felicity really seemed to enjoy riding around with Ivy. Maybe that is partly because Ivy gave her some Cheetos! Good thing I dressed her in orange. Felicity didn't take much notice of the animals but did enjoy being pushed over the hills in the stroller. David found it challenging to keep up with so many kids, so we'll see how many I can talk him into!

Morro Bay
My cousin Kymberly whom I had not seen for a decade or so came to town with her four kids. We took a day trip out to Morro Bay. After a fun time chatting with John and Kymberly on the way to the beach, we had lunch at the Nibble Nook. The clam chowder was excellent. We headed out onto the beach, where Felicity had her first experience with the waves and the sand. She was unsure of the water.

Grandpa Russ tries to get a smile.

She looked so tiny!

Felicity really enjoyed crawling around and eating the sand.

The following photo is from the first time Felicity and I visited the beach together, in December of 2007...
and this photo is at the same spot during the current visit.

Ivy enjoyed burying John in the sand.

We strolled around the boardwalk for awhile. These are my cousin's kids and the rock in the background is Morro Rock.

I used to enjoy going to this tiny aquarium as a child. It looks exactly as it did then. There are seal and sea lion tanks on one side and then some tanks with fish and crustaceans inside. Felicity enjoyed mimicking the sea lions “awworgh”. We also made the traditional visit to the Shell Shop.

We stopped at a couple of farm stands on the way back home. This one had avocado trees with ripe avocados on them.

Felicity and Uncle John
We took Felicity on a trip to California to see my family. We took her on an airplane, and she did pretty well on the flights. Here she is at my parent's house, playing with Grandpa Russ and Uncle John (I have an Uncle John, and now she has an Uncle John).

Felicity's favorite toy is a ball. She recognizes them anywhere, whether on the television or at the pool. "Won't you play with me?" she asks.
